ARTIST'S STUDIO

Stewart Nachmias currently maintains his studio in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn. His workshop was included in a recent
BWAC Park Slope Studio Tour, where he presented demonstrations of his technique in woodcuts and paper casting.

Prior to moving his studio to Brooklyn, Nachmias and several fellow artists operated Studio 827, located at 41 Union Square in
New York City. Studio 827 had a long history of artists working in all media. It was here Nachmias began his friendship and
collaboration with Dorothy Dehner, (1901-1994), whose studio was nearby. Nachmias began printing unfinished editions of Dehner's etched & engraved plates, many of which were produced by Dehner at Atelier 17 in the 50's.
